Earlier this month both Justin and I were invited to help judge American Gin and Whiskey for the World Drinks Awards *. The tasting was held at the incomprehensibly whiskey centric Jack Rose Dining Saloon in Washington D.C. We started with a few flights of American Gin featuring Classic Gin, Compound Gin, Matured Gin, and Contemporary Styled Gin. We then moved on to Whiskey flights to Kentucky Bourbon, non-Kentucky Bourbon, Single Malt Whiskey, Single Barrel Bourbon, as well as the overall World’s Best American Whiskey. In February, Justin will be traveling to London to help judge the overall World’s Best Whiskey where the American Whiskey will be judged alongside the World’s Best Scotch, Canadian Blended, Blended Malt, and several other categories.
